Course Overview:

Adobe Premiere gives you powerful video and audio editing tools. Students will add transitions, special effects, graphics, titles, and music to their Premiere projects. Students will adjust the image quality of the video and edit and mix the sound track. Students will build picture-in-picture effects, create animated titles, record voice-overs, add motion effects, and publish the results to a variety of formats. Students will create streaming video for playback on a web site.

This course prepares a student to take the Adobe Digital video using Adobe Premiere Pro​ certification exam.

Students must have a copy of Adobe Premiere CC in order to do coursework.

Students will:
  • identify the tools available for importing, viewing and editing programs in Premiere.
  • manage media assets.
  • create cuts only video and add transitions.
  • add dynamic titles.
  • add video effects.
  • add and edit audio.
  • compose films and add color effects.
  • manage and export a Premiere project.
  • import and work with files from other Adobe applications.

About This Course:

We are committed to offering world class interactive online courses that provide training and learning support for the student in a number of ways during their experience. This course structure has been developed to provide activities to guide students throughout the entire process of learning. Learning activities include hands-on assignments that allow students to use what they are learning to allow better transferable skills within their work environments.

When a student learns, they are not alone.   Each student will be supported by our student services department – which ranges from course mentors, registrar, and technical support assistance.   Every month students have a progress report run on them every month by our student services department to ensure they are making satisfactory progress.   If a student falls behind, we reach out to them personally by phone call every month to see if there is anything we can do to continue to assist them with moving forward in their course.

Course Outline:

Lesson 1: Getting Started

In this first lesson, you will load the Premier software and download lesson files to learn the basics of working with Premiere. You will create your first project in Premiere and learn to work with the Project and Monitor windows.

Lesson 2: Managing Assets

In this lesson, you'll learn how to choose project settings, load video and graphic files, and use the Project panel to organize assets into bins. 

Lesson 3: Creating Cuts Only Video and Adding Transitions

In this lesson, you will assemble clips to create a video and audio files,  adding various types of transitions.

Lesson 4: Creating Dynamic Titles and Advanced Editing

In this lesson, you will add titles such as text titles, graphics and scrolling titles to a file. You will also begin to use the editing tools.  

Lesson 5: Adding Video Effects and Putting Clips in Motion

In this lesson, you will add special effects such as color to change the appearance of the video.  In addition, you'll also size, move, and alter the speed of clips.

Lesson 6: Working with Audio

In this lesson, you will develop an understanding of basic audio characteristics, and learn how to work with the audio mixer. The audio mixer allows you to add and mix recorded speech to a file. Also, you'll learn how to sweeten sound using audio effects. 

Lesson 7: Compositing Techniques and Color

In this lesson, you will explore tools in Premiere that can be used to combine clips. You'll also look at the color effects and learn how to work with nested sequences to make editing easier.

Lesson 8: Managing and Exporting Projects

In this lesson, you will use the Project Manager to create archives of projects and use the Clip Notes to create documents that allow customers to review your projects. You'll also work on exporting videos.

Lesson 9: Putting it all together

Welcome to the final lesson of the Adobe Premiere course. In this lesson, you will apply what you have learned to enhance an existing project or create a brand new one. 

All necessary materials are included.

This course prepares a student to take the Adobe Digital video using Adobe Premiere Pro​ certification exam.

  • Cable, Fiber, DSL, or LEO Satellite (i.e. Starlink) internet with speeds of at least 10mb/sec download and 5mb/sec upload are recommended for the best experience.
